Title: [Solved]Configuring ReportNet without UTF-8 encoding
Post by: Prad on 24 Apr 2006 02:23:31 AM
Hi All,

Our client created the databases without UTF-8 encoding and more over they are
not willing to change the characterset encoding to UTF-8 from the default one provided by the database.

And we want to install and configure the CRN with the database without UTF-8. Can this be a possible job and how can I accomplish this. Even if I do this job will there be any problem.

Thanks and Regards,
Prad.

What database are they using? And why don't they want to change this encoding. If they still don't want to change they mustn't be surprised if it doesn't work properly....
UTF-8 encoding is the standard for ReportNet.. If they buy a car that runs on petrol and they only want to fill her up with LPG what then?
When MS says it runs on XP and they still want to run it on 98 what then???
So.... I would say to the customer that it's a requirement...
