Hi
I potentialy have two discreet groups of users that I want to be presented with diffirent Cognos connection home pages.
Each set of users will be able to log in and access their own pages but I want to be able to present to deal with diffirent types of 'anonymous user'.
Is there a way of setting up seperate cognos connection pages by providing diffirent URLs to each user group..?
The reason for this is that I want to be able to present 'internal' users with basic company wide information but external users accessing through an extranet I want to offer a very basic welcome page for them to log in.
Thanks
Geoff
Yes this can be done.
We have three enviroments.
Dev http/ubrs3004.rdc.uk.kjdsfjdsj.com etc,etc.
UAT /ubns3004.uk.kjdsfjdsj.com etc,etc.

Unfortnately you must change your cognos connection URL on your own PC each time you want to publish a package with framework manager to a different environment.
Not too much of a hassle.
... or just three separate gateways poiting to dispatchers poiting to common content manager
... or programming front-end with JAVA or .Net
... or buying a pre-written library for creating JAVA front-ends
"... or just three separate gateways poiting to dispatchers poiting to common content manager"
This sounds like the easist option unless I misunderstood the eariler post. Where would I get the best description of how to set up multiple gateways as you suggest - from the architecture guide..?
Geoff
Yes, but basically you perform a standard Gateway and Dispatcher install, while during configuration you disable any reporting services. This way not only you can customize skins, but also certain UI elements can be removed at the dispatcher level.
Thanks very much - Iwill try that...
Cheers
