Hi all,

I am getting a HAL error while opening report studio.
I came to know it is mainly due to the msxml.dll only.
Does anyone know what version of msxml.dll is reqd for Cognos 8.3
Or let me know the way to solve this issue.

I get that error also. I think it is caused by java code which displays a horizontal thermometer while Report Studio is checking user security and loading itself. It seems to happen within some internet browsers, but not others ... also it seems to happen on some PCs and not on others.

Can you provide the actual hal error code or a screenshot of it?
