Gurus,

I am seeing a weird end parentheses after all of the metrics displayed as HTML embedded in a scheduled email report. For instance:

Month Sales
2010/Oct $50,000)
2010/Sep $55,000)

The report is also attached as an XLS 2007 and this character ')' is definitely not in the dataset.

Any suggestions? thoughts?

Hi,

Have you checked the properties of the Currency format/pattern defined - it looks to me like it may have a trailing close parenthesis.

Thanks for the follow-up MF.,

I reached out to IBM Support on this one and they chalked it up to a rendering bug with Internet Explorer and Outlook (whereas IE is the HTML rendering default). The tech said I would be opening up a can of worms if I wanted to have Outlook control the rendering (whereas they have noted a number of issues there as well but not as many as with IE).

So if this bug fix is deemed important enough it will be fixed in the next release (whereas I am already getting outdated with the current release of Cognos 10 and we are still on 8.4).
