Title: IIS 7 Config Question - Redirect's on Default Web Site
Post by: kmuller on 15 Oct 2010 12:21:03 PM
Has anyone figured out how to setup a redirect on the Default Web Site in IIS 7 as was done in IIS 6.  In IIS 6 I could set the redirect on the Home Directory tab (on the default web site) to whichever cognos virtual directory I wanted and I could then setup a user friendly dns entry.  The end users could hit cognos much easier than with trying to remember the full url.

I cannot figure out how to do this in IIS 7 and various searches on the web have no been helpful?

Does anyone know how to do this?

Have you added the http redirection in W2K8? Server manager -> Web Server -> Common HTTP Features:
HTTP Redirection
Next set the redirect on the default website.
Don't forget to disable the redirect on all subfolders otherwise you will be continuosly be redirected... :D
