Title: CAF issues after going from MR2 to MR3
Post by: cognosguru on 27 Feb 2006 01:23:33 PM
Hi All,

Has anyone ran into problems going from ReportNet 1.1 MR2 to MR3?Ã,  We didn't overwrite and didn't do the deployment method.Ã,  We backed up the entire content store database and imported the database into a new content store db for MR3.Ã,  Seemed to work fine but when we switched everything over to prod and had a lot of users hitting it ---- problems.Ã,  Most seem to deal with security and CAF.Ã,  Just wondering if anyone else has ran into similar.

Thanks,

Hi,
While installing cognos for training purposes in my company I had come across this CAF issue.

Scenario:
I created one user in Oracle (crn) and imported the oracle dump files for GO Sales(GOSL.dmp) and GO Retailers(GORT.dmp). While you do the import you will see that the 'country' table is present in both the dumps and is conflicting. Though your import will succeed with warnings/errors, when you publish a package and try to run it in QS, you will get this error.

Resolution:
We created seperate users in oracle for gosl and gort and then loaded the respective dump files in them. Then on publishing the package again with the new datasources included in the cognos connection, the report ran fine.

I guess you will need to check if all your datasources were imported correctly. Just test your datasources in the cognos connection once.

Regards,
JK

Thanks JK.  Unfortunately it is something else.  We tested and the datasources are fine.
