Hello All,
I'm trying to output my Cognos report in Excel. Whenever I try to open a report in any Excel(2007) format within Cognos Connection the page acts as if it's going to open, but returns to the report page in Public folders. I changed the default in properties to Excel before trying to run the report. The report opens in the other formats listed, except Excel(2007).
How can I get this to work?

I found the following information / solution in IBM/Cognos Technote (troubleshooting), entitled:
Window closes when attempting to view Excel reports but PDF and HTML reports are unaffected
Steps:To disable the toolbar, click on the Pop-ups icon and clear the Enable Pop-up Blocker check box. To view recently blocked pop-up, click the Pop-ups icon, and go to View Recently Blocked Pop-ups. Allow popups from the Cognos web site.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, follow the steps below:
1. Open internet explorer.
2. Click on the "Tools" button at the top.
3. Select "Internet options" and select the "Security" tab.
4. Click on the "Local Intranet" icon.
5. Click on the "Sites" button and then click on the "Advanced" button.
6. Type in the cognos connection URL and click on the "Add" button.
7. Click on OK.
