Title: PAD Limitations
Post by: Teamkenji on 08 Sep 2010 03:41:20 AM
I have 70 or so Apps already within my PAD. Amongst other things, navigating my way through and adjusting my many Admin links, creating new macros etc is very VERY slow.

I am going to need to more than double this number of applications. I could make use of an additional Dimension for versions within the current Apps but the structure and LOD required for this 2nd group of Apps is materially different. Doubling the size of the respective elists and heavily using access tables would give me the same issue.

My question: Is there a limit to the numer of Applications within a PAD? Can I have an additional PAD?, Although im guessing that Admin links between Applications sitting on two different PADS is unworkable.
Is there a way to improve speed and (Polling?) for this many applications one one PAD or am I opening myself up to a whole new world of pain?

There is no hard and fast rule when it comes to the total number of applications you can have in an environment.

The best approach would be to keep it simple.  Make sure you analyze your applications:

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24024994

The above url will allow you to review the applications and determine if you are with in the best practice.

do not know of a limit to the number of applications you can have on a PAD. I believe it comes down to DB maintenance.

I know a client with up to 80+ live applications, however maintenance of this was v excessive
