Hi

I have a very intresting situation today in my Report (see Issue1 Below).
I have a report with 4 Line charts to display - Please find the attachment for the output.

Issue 1:-
1. When I initially run the report*, the performance is very poor - 20 Min to execute
2. Later I placed a LIST above the chart and executed* the report - executed in < 1min !!!
3. So I hided the LIST which I placed above the chart and displaying only Charts..
4. COOL - My performance problem is temporarily solved.
* I executed the report in HTML Format

Issue 2:-
1. Later when I try to run this report in EXCEL or PDF format...
2. Same Issue with the performance - running for long timeeee....

Need you comments ASAP on this pleaseee.

Just a guess, but the performance improvement may just be due to the fact that results where still cached on the server. With default settings Cognos will try and use the cache instead of performing the query itself again.

Did you test the performance of the queries themselves (upon which the graphs are based) ?

Finally I set the properties to the page and removed the LIST.

Now the performance of the report is improved.

Hi,
I am having the same sort of problem when running my report in XML,PDF..it runs fine.
But when I am trying to run it in EXCEL format it is taking forever.
Could anyone suggest a solution for this??
