Dear all,

I try to log into Cognos Analyst and I keep getting error:


[E US00052] Login failed (code=10104   0 ) Possible cause: maximum numbers of users could have been changed, and all users have not yet been logged off. Please contact your Analyst system administrator


I'm server local administrator.

FILESYS.INI ...... MAXUSERS set to 10

version: Cognos 8.4.1

P.S.: as soon as anyone is logged on 10 locks.log files are created in C:\Program Files\cognos\c8\bin\Locks

Hi there,

I am not sure if you were able to resolve the issue but if not then here are the steps.

The below is best done when all your users have logged off analyst/manager

DELETE the locks.log and logins.log file located at the path specified in the network FILESYS.INI file.

These file will automatically be regenerated, once users login...so dont worry.
