Title: Catalog Changes
Post by: ramakrishnamanne on 11 Feb 2006 07:36:33 AM
Hi Group,

I am new person to cognos. I have clarification in imr reports and catalog.
Problem is ::: Now I am working in production environment, We have one catalog that catalog contain production database, and reports are developed on production data base.
Now I have changed that catalog production database to development database. and I opening that reports(Developed in production database) in development database, but that reports are not opening(Error message: columns not found),but that same columns are there in development database tables with different tables names. i have renamed that table names in catalog (like as what columns are there in production database and development database.)in development database tables have same columns like as production database tables.

And one problem is that production database tables name is different, I have modified development database tables in catalog like as production database tables. but its not working, when I was opening that reports the reports columns are pointing to production database columns.
Please give me any suggestion on thatââ,¬Â¦Ã¢â,¬Â¦Ã¢â,¬Â¦Ã¢â,¬Â¦itââ,¬â,,¢s very argent

Thanks & Regards
RK

1. Production Environment & Development environment must have same structure. Rename table as like production in the development environment.

2. Check the ODBC connection in catalog weather its point production or development environment.

Please update the feedback.

Check this steps also.

1. From the Catalog menu, click Tables.
2. In the Catalog Tables box, click the table or tables to verify.
3. Click Verify.
Note: If the table or a column within the table is no longer in the database, an X appears
over the table icon.
4. Remove or rename the table or column in the table to fix the error, and click OK.
