Title: Joins between tables in FM
Post by: davidcognos on 28 Jun 2010 09:46:29 PM
Hi,

I have a doubt regarding the joins to be given in the Framework manager. If there are 3 tables which require the join to be created, in which table A and table B have 4 keys in common and table A and table C have 2 keys in common. Is it on the basis of the Business requirement that we have to give the join or is it that the all the common keys between the tables have to be joined. I am asking is it mandatory that what ever the keys are common between the tables have to be given join. Please clarify my doubt.

Thanks in Advance!!!!!!!!!

Hi,

There is no real way for us to know how you should specify your joins without knowing lots of detail on how the data is stored and how it fits into your business processes.  You really need to ask these questions about the logic of how tables are joined to whoever designed the database you are linking to with Framework Manager.

Sorry.
