Title: Cognos 8.4 Planning Web Hierarchies
Post by: Rob_D on 22 Jun 2010 10:40:44 AM
When viewing a published application on the web, if a D-list in a cube is hierarchical you can normally switch on the hierarchical view option to see '+' signs next to the subtotals which allow you to show or hide the line items below the subtotal.

Does anyone know if it is possible to specify settings for what hierarchy detail is shown, so a new user can see a particular view of a d-list when they open the cube on the web for the 1st time?

Many thanks,
Rob

Hi Rob,

Unfortunately there is no such option (yet). Maybe worth to log an enhancement request to define a default view for this.
However, as you may know the rich client saves personalised views, so it will remember the groupings for each user. This means the users will have to select the required view only for the first time, but I agree would be nice to give them a default.

Cheers,
Carsten

Hi Carsten,

Many thanks for the response. I think this feature is a nice to have for me at the moment so it will be sufficient that the client saves the users previous views. I will mention to our ICS support about logging an enhancement request for this.

Cheers,
Rob
