Before I created the Framework, I test the connection in IBM Cognos Administration and the result is Succeeded..

can anyone Help me?
please help me..

Hi,

Unfortunatley, this is a generic error which simply means that the cube cannot be accessed.  Is the cube accessible from anywhere else so you can check it is working as expected?

If you are running Framework Manager on a different computer than the Cognos server, you need to make sure the computer can reach the BW system directly.  I'd suggest testing with a native SAP client.

Hi All,

I just installed SAP Client in Cognos Server, should I install other connector on Cognos Server?

I create a simple cube with SAP BW (just characteristic as dimension and key figure as measure without load any data). After create the cube, I activated that cube and now the cube status active and executable. I not load the data because I just want see Framework manager can detect SAP BW cube.

Can you explain how to test the cube without use Cognos?
because I just have Cognos in my server and I just have a little knowledge with SAP BW

The recommended practice is to create an InfoQuery against one of the cubes (or multiproviders) using BEx Query Designer.  Make use you enable the 'Release for OLAP' or 'Allow external reporting' option before saving.  Then you should be able to run Framework Manager and import the query.

FM gets the server/login information from the Cognos server, but makes its own connection to the BW server, which means you have to install the SAP software on the computer running FM.  The FM help file also lists several other security requirements that you may want to verify.

hi all,

I have Installed SAP Client in my Cognos Server and I have succeed testing the connection.

I have created an Infocube and activated that cube. After that I released  the cube using BEx Query with checking Release For OLAP.
But still My Framework manager can't read Bex Query and got an error like below
"BMT-MD-6003 No connection to the data source 'IDES ATI ROUTER' could be established"

Also I have used SAP Client with authorization like rlp said from this link

http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/c8bi/v8r4m0/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.swg.im.cognos.ug_fm.8.4.0.doc/ug_fm_id11103ImportSAPBWDataSource.html

Can you help to solve this problem?
pls reply asap.. :(

Thank you..:)
