Help.....!!!!

In performing an import, all folders and dashboards were overwritten with the new information.

Is there a way to restore the old information?  I copied the folders in 'My Folder', but they were overwritten as well.

Is there anything I can do to restore these, or will these have to be recreated?

Not having a good day... :-(

Do you have a backup of the content store from before you ran the import?  If so, you should be able to restore from that to get your folders back.

Good morning MF,
No unfortunately I was not the one that executed the import, so there is not one available.  I will have to recreate all of the BI reports/Metrics dashboards I had before.

Thanks for your assistance...have a great day (:|)

That's bad news - sorry to hear about this.  The only other hope is that you have something that physically backed up the content store database from outside of the Cognos 8 environment (scheduled backups or similar).

Good luck!

Thanks MF,
To my surprise I was able to recreate the Metrics information by creating a Metrics package and connecting to the data source.  I have all of my Metrics information, Metrics, Projects, Metrics Types :-).  The only thing I have to do is recreate the reports and dashboards, which will not be as bad as having to input all of the information, since this was a manual process.

Thanks for your assistance and have a wonderful day! :-)

Hi

The other solution was the backup team , as we have regular backups of content store, so if you or your team had a backup of the content store then you need not have to recreate the dashboards and reports ;)
