IE7 & Portlet issues

Morning all,

I've currently a case open with Cognos who are trying to address this issue but wanted to put the question to this forum to see if any of you had come across and solved this issue.

I have an 8.4 environment with FP1 installed. We have two reports that are displayed using the Multi-page(dashboard) portlet. All users that access the dashboard using IE6 have no issues but those users that have IE7 can access the report, but it will not run! The report will  sit their and eventually return a time out notice.

Cognos Support have initially pointed me in the direction of the Microsoft KB doc

This KB doc is titled "How do I configure Internet Explorer to download more than two files at one time?"

However after following this KB doc. we are still having the same issue.

Anyone else come across this or have any suggestions ( downgrading everyones IE is not an option ::) )

I've conducted some futher testing and the issue I'm experiencing certainly seems to relate to the use of the portlets when they are set to display a report.

Out of interest when I create a similar test within 8.1 I have no issue accessing the report using IE7.
