Hi everyone,
I have a user who is unable to view a chart when the report is rendered in PDF.Ã,  Everything looks fine in HTML.Ã,  Is there a setting that I need to change?Ã,  Any ideas?

Thanks.

Assuming you can run it without problems, are you running the same version of Acrobat as your user?

Make sure your user has the supported applications... pdf reader and MSIE.

Under 1.1 charts are rendered as jpg images and under 1.1 the jpgs are not rendered correctly in PDF.  MR1 fixed some of these problems and MR2 fixed some more.  I had a similar problem under 1.1 and it worked fine under MR2.  The only other issue might be a security issue with your server and him/his workstation.  Some servers are set up to where ftp and other programs must initiate from the server.  Since the workstation is trying to download the chart for conversion to PDF, this maybe causing your problem.  Best of luck solving it!  Please post the solution when you find it.

Thanks everyone for your comments.  Another strange thing...In the DEV environment, chart displays in PDF; in TEST it doesn't.

I verified that I have the same version of Adobe Reader as user.  Supported apps are installed.  Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

UPDATE:
The chart is a bar chart with category of Month and Series of CallType.  When the user enters date parameters less than 16 months, the chart doesn't display in PDF.  However, when the user selects 16 or more months the chart displays in PDF.  This is not an issue on the DEV server (number of months makes no difference)...only in STAGE.

I copied the XML from the report that works in DEV to a new report in STAGE environment and still have the same problem.

I think there is a discrepancy between the two servers (some configuration setting or something, possibly, even memory).  Still no solution as yet but I will keep you all updated on the fix.

Thanks.

We found that this issue is related to memory allocation on the test server.  Both DEV and PROD have considerably more memory that TEST.  When promoting the report to PROD, the chart displays as expected when rendered in PDF.

My admin is unwilling to add memory to TEST environment because we're in the process of upgrading to new dedicated CRN blade servers.

Thanks to everyone for your responses.
