Cognos 8 service does not start automatically

Hi,                                                                     
   I have an issue that every time the server is rebooted, the content 
manger service starts automatically but the 'ibm cognos 8 service' does
not start automatically even after it is set as 'automatically'.       
Therefore, I had to start ibm cognos 8 service manually .Can you please       
provide some information regarding why the cognos services are not     
starting automatically after the server reboots?  Thanks,

Hi,

Are you sure the content manager is up and running before the Cognos 8 service attempts to start?

Have a look in cogserver.log to see what is being logged when the C8 service fails to start.  This should point you in the right direction.

Content manager service is up and running. Its cognos service that does not start automatically after server updates. I looked in event viewer of the server and I noticed there are some errors and warnings that the cpu has reached its threshold.
