Hi all,

I am installing CRN, Cognos 8.2 and Cognos8.4 in one Operation System. C8.2 and C8.4 are installed successfully and running well.

CRN 1.1 is installed successfully but it is not running perfectly.

My problem is

1. I have created goslcrn and gortcrn databases in SQL Server 2000, but when I am restoring the databases its giving and like GOSL_log.ldf can not be overwritten. It is being used by another user. But Cognos Report net service are running perfectly, when I am creating report its giving an error.

For the above problem I did like this

I have create one folder called "DATA"in the path of C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Data and I have given this path at the time of restoring the databases in MS SQL Server Enterprise. With solvation service started successfully, but when I am staring cognos connection like localhost/crn in Internet Explorer its giving an error like
DPR-ERR-2058 The dispatcher cannot service the request at this time. The dispatcher is still initializing. How to Solve this issue.

I need solution for this problem kindly solve this issue.

Thanks in advance.

GOSL_log.ldf can not be overwritten. It is being used by another user.

The clue here is in the error message.  Although you have named the database goslcrn, it looks like the log file is still named GOSL_log, which will be conflicting with the log file of the gosl database being used by your Cognos 8 instance(s).  When you restore the database backups for GOSL and GORT, make sure you rename the physical files being used for the database and the log to give them unique names.

The DPR-ERR-2058 message can be caused by a number of issues - you need to check:

a) you are using a differnent content store database from your C8 instances.
b) you are using different port numbers from your C8 instances (including the shutdown port and the logging port).
c) you are using different virtual directories from your C8 instances.

MF.
