Hi all,

I'm pretty new to the administration side of Cognos, and I'm having trouble importing or exporting packages in the Cognos Content Administration screen.

I am able to export a package from a Windows development box, by going through the Launch -> IBM Cognos Administration -> Configuration -> Content Administration screen and using the export wizard.

I'm trying to then copy the .ZIP export package to a UNIX test box and run the import wizard in the same path above.

When I finish the wizard and click run, it will sit there for about 10 minutes before receiving the following error:

----------
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, you@example.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
----------

I also cannot export a package that is already on the UNIX test box, even if I follow the same steps that I'm using on the Windows box.

Both the cogserver.log POGO_...log files do not log any entries related to this.  I do see an error in the Apache error_log as follows:

[Mon Dec 07 11:03:37 2009] [warn] [client <<IP ADDRESS REMOVED>>] Timeout waiting for output from CGI script /<<PATH TO COGNOS>>/cgi-bin/cognos.cgi, referer: http://<<IP ADDRESS REMOVED>>/cognos8/cgi-bin/cognos.cgi

Any tips?

Thanks,
Robert

i would open a SR request with IBM support. Are all your servers running on Windows?  Have you tried restarting your environment and then doing another export?
