Cognos Gurus,

I am currently having a major issue publishing and viewing recently published Cognos 8 Transformer cubes since our servers underwent an outage a few weeks ago.

For a little now the Cognos 8 servers and the Cognos 8 Transformer application has been stable and working fine and now all of sudden I am receiving the following error message from Cognos 8 Transformer  and Cognos 8 Analysis Studio when I try and view a particular cube that I try to publish.

A bit of background on the situation that may have caused these errors, apparently the network administrator here did a server outage including an outage of the Cognos servers recently and since then, I have not been able to publish cubes and/or view the newly attempted published cubes.

From Transformer 8 when publishing the cube via the Publishing Wizard, I receive ...

"PDS-PCT-0020 Unable to open the PowerCube: (Open Data Cache).  Cube path/name may be incorrect; cube may be corrupt or may not be a PowerCube."

When trying to view the cube in Analysis Studio 8 I receive ...

"BMT-MD-6003 - No connection to the data source could be established."

What a fine mess I'm in!!!!

Any clues, comments, e.t.c would be greatly appreciated!

Kind Regards
Cogs in a Machine (with a spanner in the works!)

Before we even going to open the cube in Cognos Connection even Analysis Studio, can you please check:
1. Open the model and perform a test build without any security, then view the cube using PowerPlay Client 8.4 (if you have it)
2. Build and publish the cube from Transformer 8 instead of from Command Line and see if you still have the same issue.

It somehow cannot access the location where the cube is sitting. Check the permissions of the file system/folders etc. If it is on a network folder, try to share that folder.
