Gurus,

I am having a major problem being able to publish and subsequently view Cognos 8 cubes after a server/network outage that occured a couple of weeks back.

Prior to the outage I was able to successfully publish and subsequently view any cube that I published.  However, now I receive the following error from Cognos 8 Transformer whenever I go to publish the cube from within Transformer ...

PDS-PCT-0020 Unable to open the PowerCube: (Open Data Cache).  Cube path/name may be incorrect; cube may be corrupt or may not be a PowerCube.

Any thoughts or suggestions on the cause and any potential solutions to resolve this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

it is likely an issue with the datasource issue. go to cognos portal and test the conenction... you can get some hints from there

That's potentially possible because the cube is being published to another Cognos server.  I think there was a network share set up on the other server and I think the keep network share mapping setting may not have been checked/ticked, so after the server outage that could have severed that connection.  I will double check that when I'm next in the office.

Cheers

I know this is an old thread, but I thought I'd share my experience I had with this issue this morning!!!  ;D

I retired an old cube, however, I had the cube listed as a data source in the FM and it was still looking for it when running any reports which resulted in an error.  Once I removed the old cube as a data source, the world became right again!
