Hi All,

I have a requirement in report studio to use maps and align this maps according to the organization structure heirarchy we have. We have operations in different countries.

The heirarchy is like country head -> counrtyr area head(group of some businesss regions) -> Region head -> branch group head(a group of few branches) -> branch head. Is it possible to create a report using maps which can help us to drill down to lower levels by clicking respective points in the map and in turn which needs to be based on the organization heirarachy dimension.

Any thoughts will be appreciated

Yes, it is possible...

First, you'll need a map. (likely, the ones out of the box will not serve your purpose)

Second, you'll need to use Map Manager to create "Layers" (these will correlate to your levels of drill down.)

(not a trivial task unfortunately)

you're other option is a tool such as "Map Intelligence" from Pitney Bowes (which integrates with Cognos 8). Likely, getting a consultant would be the way to go.

Thanks a lot David.
I was away for a couple of days and looking into this issue again now. I will check the first option with map manager.

unfortunately, my business managers cannot entertain further investvent as we already have a tool called "MapInfo Professional"
