Hi there,

We have a report which has about 10 Value Prompt contorls in report's prompt page. For easy to use, all there value prompt controls have been supplied default selections.

But since default selections been supplied for all controls, Cognos skips prompt page and directly run report. In such case, report users have no chance to make their custom prompt value selections.

Does any Cognos gurus konws how to let Cognos mandate to display prompt page even value prompt conrol's default section has been set.

Many thanks,
Forrest

Mark to 'Yes' the property 'Required'. This force Report Studio to show the prompt page.
If you wanna to let the page clean, select 'No' to 'Hide Adornments' property. You have to do this for all the prompts.

Thank you for replying.

Even I set control to required, as long as set contorl's "Default Selections" property, Cognos skips prompt page. But we would like prompt page to present, so that user has chance to make custom parameter value selection.

Thanks,
Forrest

In addition to jeamsx:

You also have to mark the filters in the query's of your report as 'Required' instead of 'Optional'.

Make sure that in your prompt's properties Auto-Submit isn't set to 'yes', Otherwise it will take the default values and submit without giving a chance to select something else.......
