Disabled Users?

Hi there, we have a query that goes against the content store directly to pull back the current users and what role/group they are assigned to.  I have been looking into the database and I noticed there is no way (from what I can see) to determine if a user has been disabled or "removed from any role/group".  We removed a user from all access, however that user is still showing up in the query.

I know there isn't a lot of info on this topic...but I was just wondering if anybody knew how cognos knows if the user no longer has access and where it flags this information?  From my research I gather that the content store is just logging information and telling me who has accessed what objects at some point in time and not really a "current" user perspective.  Is this infromation in the audit database instead?

Thanks!
