Clearing Job Queue in Cognos 8

Hi ,

In Cognos 8.4 Admnistration Console we see in the metrics SMTP Queue and Task Queue. The SMTP Queue gets its length from NC_JMSQUEUE. Similarly for the Task Queue which table gives its value. The Reason for my question is eventhough we do not have any reports,or Jobs running we notice a number of elements in the queue.

There should be a DROP NC Tables SQL that you can run to clear it out.

Steps:

1- Stop Cognos Service
2- Have the Database Administrator back up the Cognos content store
3- Connect to content store database and run the NC_DROP script found in the appropriate location for your database:

<Install Location>:\crn\configuration\schemas\delivery\sqlserver\NC_DROP_MS.sql

Once you start the Cognos Service, it will then re-create the NC tables
