Has anyone had the problem and found a solution for pdf's being truncated when attempting to render a repeater report?Ã,  Displays fine in html.Ã,  Thanks.

Joe,
I've seen this before.  What are you displaying in the repeater?

JoeBass

Hi bdybldr,  Using a table to display some fields from the master query and a list below it to show items from the detail.  The list is often snipped.

bdybldr

Do you mean that the list doesn't print on the same page or the list cell is cut off.  I don't really understand what you're seeing.  Why are you using a repeater instead of a list?  What size matrix is your repeater? (1X2, ect).  Do you want to dispaly the data in the repeater on more than one page?  Sorry for all the questions; I'm trying to understand the problem.

Thanks.

JoeBass

The list is cut off somewhere in the near the middle of a line.

I'm using a 1X1 repeater so that I can employ a master-detail display:  Show the summary information at the start of each "new" list.

I'm not concerned with page breaking at the moment.

Thanks for mulling it over!

Just a thought here...do you have your repeater or repeater cell set to a fixed height?  Is it possible to change the text size and or repeater cell height?  What does this do?  Is it possible to send xml using GO Sales?

Thanks.

JoeBass

Plain Jane repeater with no adjustments.  I think you have some good ideas for experimentation.  When I have a chance, I'll let you know what I find.

In my experience, Adobe doesn't like repeaters.  I would also try using a list instead and hide the column title.  So I couldn't be more help to you.

If anyone else has to deal with this, the best workaround I could find was to use a list with list headers to display summary data.  In order for the headers to scroll correctly when run as or converted to pdf, page breaks must be set for a field contained in the list header.  The drawback to this approach is that the list header is displayed on every page of the report.

I may be over-simplifying but, it seems to me that any report that renders as expected in html but behaves differently when running to another format, demonstrates a bug.  I used to be religious about my bug reports / enhancement requests with Cognos but, since I haven't heard a single fix response for the 16 I've logged, I don't bother anymore.  Rant off.
