Specific capabilities per package

Hello All,

I need to change the security policy under cognos 8.2 and the demand is for having limited capabilities depending on the functionnal domain of the user. I'm not sure there's a way to do it, let me give you an example of the target :

Suppose a sales analyst
As an anlyst he's been granted the use of query studio
As a sales people he's been granted an access to sales report folders and maybe a part of controlling folder where there's the Turnover report for instance.
Imagine sales reports use the package A and controlling reports the B.

is there anyway i can set policy so that this analyst is able to run (not see the last view generated, but "run") the controlling reports of turn over based on package B but not use query studio to browse the package B ?
It would be equivalent to say for package A he's got the capability query studio but not for the package B.

is this possible ?

no idea ? no possibility ? or my question is not clear enough ?  :-\

i suppose you could create a new role/group for package B specifically for this user. The would have only execute and traverse permissions to the package so the user should be able to run the report but will not see the package when trying to open it in QS.

I'm not sure if this will work as I have not tested it but it sound feasible :)

It's working, thanks a lot redmist  :D
