Hi,

While exporting the content store with user account information the following error is appearing for some of the users.

CM-REQ-4248 Unable to access the account "CAMID ("edir:u:cn=xyz")" in an external security system

I did some reading on the cognos support as well as in this group. The possible reasons cited are:

  1. The user does not exist in the external namespace OR
  2. The user performing the export might not have administrative rights for all the namespaces.

We have 2 namespaces, the default Cognos namespace and a thirdparty namespace for user authentication.

But none of the solutions seem to apply in my case.

I belong to the system administrator and the server administrator group and as suggested in 2 I have tried assigning the server administrator and the system administrator to the thirdparty namespace and still the error appears.

For 1, all these users exist in the authentication provider.

One thing I observed that these particular users have entries in the CMOBJPROPS25 table aand the definition for the table is : Stores the data regarding the objects deployed, like the deployed folder, the reports, the number of folders present in the deployment archive, etc

Any suggestion? What is its impact during the import?

Thanks,
Paulami

Paulami,

This is because you are logged in to only one of the security authentications at a time when exporting the content store.  If you log in to the other authentication provider and export the content store again with user account information, you'll see the details for the people in the other security namespace and the ones you can see now will have the "Unable to access account" error.

Hope this helps.

Dustin
