Hi,

Roughly, this is the process:

* Analyst
Create library (to store the objects in)
Create D-lists (dimensions), e.g. timedimension, producthierarchy, versions
Set formatting and calculations etc on D-list items
Create D-cubes (cubes)
Optional: create D-links (to copy data between cubes)

* Contributor
Create the application (based on the Analyst library)
Set application options (navigation, orientation)
Define E-list (hierarchy for data entry) and access rights
Run Go To Production (GTP) to bring the application online

TM1 is basically a budgeting and forecasting tool which provides a real-time approach to consolidating, viewing, and editing enormous volumes of multidimensional data. You can create different cubes and even users can edit the cube budgeting data from the excel sheet based on rules.
