Hi all,
I am facing as issue mentioned below in Cognos-Report Studio
                                                      version is  BI 8.2

One particular report/view that gets scheduled everyday and returns standard  output of 22000 records(22000 workers)everyday gave only 18600 records on one particular day.
However the status of the report is shown as SUCCEEDED in schedule management. On receiving the complaint from the user, we verified the output version and found the complaint to be true. So, we rescheduled the report again and found that 22000 records are coming. What must have been the reason for giving 18600 instead of 22000 in the first run? The output is Excel 2002.

thanks in advance

regards,
vij

did the truncated version of the report had a page footer?
If not then it may be an indication that some column had a special character... I've seen this same thing with comments in foreign languages that seem to confuse excel.

But if it had a page footer then most probably was a database issue. check with the DBA.

Kleber.

Hi  Kleber  thanks for your reply
the thing in my report is............
No footer in the page, but the last record in the truncated output had few columns had special charaters ">>>>". So what can be the root cause for this?we checked in the DataBase and could not find any special character as   ">>>>".  we need to avoid this in our project as these reports are very critical.

Please advice.
