Check box / radio button value prompt horizontal layout

When using a value prompt with the UI set to either check box or radio button group is there any way to get the options to distribute horizontally rather than vertically?

i.e.

ž Option 1 â,,¢ Option 2 â,,¢ Option 3

instead of

ž Option 1
â,,¢ Option 2
â,,¢ Option 3

No, I don't think so.  One way I got around it when I had a real estate constraint was to use an optional Value Prompt for EACH CHOICE, with a checkbox UI.  The limitation here is you couldn't force a user to choose at least one of the options.
