Gents,
We still have Reportnet 1.02 and we are trying to get it onto an Oracle 10G (win2003 64bit) system. We have Cognos Configuration up and running though we cheated and used a remote SQL Server for the content store. We have framework manager both local and remote. All systems are running but we have a problem in that we cannot get Cognos Connection to connect to the local 10G database. We can run FM remotely and build models etc but if we try to use them they will fail in report studio claiming that ReportNet cannot find the tns. This indicates that if we had ReportNet on a separate box we would probably be ok but trying to have them both on the same box creates a problem?? TNSPING works, SQLPLUS works, ODBC works but any attempt to use either direct or indirect (odbc) connections to Oracle, (even other oracle databases on different servers) fails. Its as if any Oracle 10G involvement in the connecting loop, other than as a remote database, causes the system to fall over. I know that Cognos connection is finding the tns name because it comes back quickly with the error that says it can't find it and takes about five seconds to fail when it is a bogus alias. Its all a bit involved and I suspect it might be a java related issue or maybe I am missing something annoyingly obvious (hopefully).
Has anyone managed to get 1.02 and 10G to coexist? What Oracle client did you use? Any ideas? I have done the jre java upgrade and the classes12.jar thing. Is it all just a bridge too far for such an old version?
Any help gratefully received.

Fixed!
Just in case anyone passes this way in the future. It was the (x86) in the path that was upsetting the Oracle client 10.2.0.1. Patched the client to 10.2.0.4 and all was well.
