Hi

I have a report i have cretaed in report studio and is saved in my folders. I want to know how i can move this report from myfolders to the public folders. Also is there a way to transfer this report to another users myfolder so that they can test prior to this report going live.

thanks

you can use different ways to do this,

1. copy report and paste it in public folder
2. take the xml copy and then give it to the other users, they can open this and save in their 'my folder'

You can easily move the report back to Public Folder by going to the Action column, beside the last icon, click more, then select move, and follow the directions from there.  You will be asked where you want to move the report, simply select Public folder.  If you have a specific folder for that report, make sure you select it.

If you want another user to view and test the report, simply give the user access to that report. Then they can move it to their 'My Folder'.

Also, remember that if make a copy, it will not have the updates if the data changes.  If it's just for testing, that fine.  I learned the hard way  :-[  Wouldn't want that to happen to you.

Hope that helps  :)
