Controlling text color in a chart

Is there any way to control the color of individual text items in a chart?

The Foreground Color property of the Combination Chart item changes text color, but it does so for ALL text items on the chart - axis labels, value labels, etc.

If we're displaying values on the bars of a bar or column chart, dark text colors are not readable if they're on a dark colored bar - but changing to a lighter color makes the text on the light colored bars unreadable.  We need to change colors of each text item individually.

Any ideas?

I've never had any luck reliably making values look good on a graph.

If you have the option, I would keep the graph as clean as possible, and create an additional cross-tab for each graph that shows the raw data (some instances this won't work, but most times it works pretty well)

...if you really have your heart set on it, adjust your chart pallette to colours that will always sufficiently display black text. (i.e. the entire spectrum of light and pastel colours).
