[Unsolved] Image Browsing not working

I tryed some search with no success on this topic.
I enabled image browsing following the guide (and also the tutorial from ReportNet Addict) with no success.

I still have problems browsing images: I insert an image in Report Studio, then go to modify the URL property of the image and click on browse. I get web server error "501 Not implemented".

I tryed the suggestions in the guide but seem to apply only to Apache (I have a Win 2003 server with IIS as web server), however I can browse the folder where I have my image files using IE.

If I insert the full path (http://scog0201/images/LOGO RadiciFIBRES.gif/ for example) I can succesfully add the image to the report.

Any suggestion will be appreciated!

Goto the folder properties within IIS of your images folder and make sure "Browse" is checked.
Then paste in the same URL you are able to browse with in IE into the CRN box.

Does it work that way? You wont be able to browse from the root of the server...

Cheers,

Mike

This is exactly what I did.

In CRN it doesn't work: cannot browse with 501 error.

I dot' understand what you mean with "wont be able to browse from the root of the server".

You wont be able to browse to http://servername/images from http://servername, you have to enter http://servername/images in the box in CRN.. If you are doing that, and it still gives the 501 error then I'd open a ticket with Cognos... Somehow the request is getting screwed up to give a 501 error if you can do the same thing in IE.

Yes, I tryed all the combinations, and it never works, I always have a 501 error.
Think I will open a call to Cognos Support.

Thanks for Help

Error code 501: Not Implemented
The server does not support the functionality required to fulfill the request. This is the appropriate response when the server does not recognize the request method and is not capable of supporting it for any resource.

What version of IIS are you using and what OS?

ibrusett

I have a Win 2003 server with IIS as web server.
I can browse the images folder from IE (using file -> open and flagging "open as web folder" as said in the cognos help for error 501) but not from Cognos
