We cannot figure out how to model the case where we have a measure which should be averaged over time, but summed over any other dimension.

Where and how do we model this?  Is it done in Framework Manager? Transformer? or Report Studio?

...Transformer has just what you need!

on the measure:

right click -> properties > "Rollup" Tab, and you set the "Time State Rollup" to what you want. (i.e. "Regular Rollup" would be "Sum" and "Time State Rollup" would be "Average".

...note: for this to work your Time Dimension has to be a true time dimension (i.e. it will have a clock to the right of the dimension name), and there can only be one time dimension in the cube.

good luck!
