Hi & Please help !

I'm a new developer/user of Report Studio. I just completed the training for Report Authoring pt 1 & don't have a lot of experience with the tool.Ã,  I'm having issues just trying to open Report Studio.Ã,  :( I'm looking for any ideas. Here's what's happening:

I can get to Cognos connection - no problem.
I can navigate to both Public & My Folders - no problem.
I can run reports in these folders - no problem.
I can open Query Studio - no problem.

I try to open Report Studio & of course there's a problem.Ã,  I keep getting the IE error of 302820, which states that my browser does not have a language preference set. I have checked my IE browser & it does have US English set. I've even removed & added it back, but still I get the same IE 302820 error when trying to open report studio. I've also verified preferences in Cognos Connection & everything is set to English.

Has anyone else had this problem ? Any ideas ?Ã,

Thanks -

Try This...

To check these settings in Internet Explorer, click Tools, click Internet Options, and then click Languages.... If this box is empty, add at least one language.

try the same from an another computer in the network..( Just to make sure that only your PC is having that problem)

Hi there -

IE has a language already selected: English (United States) [en-us]

Also two other people are currently using Report Studio besides myself & they have no problems opening the software.Ã,

Any other ideas ?

Thanks -

Check the following:
Are you using Internet Explorer? Because it only runs on IE;
Are you a ReportStudio user because if not you can't run RS.
Do you see a link referring to RS? If not you're not allowed to run RS..

As far as I know if you don't have the right language RS will use the default one...

But probably already stated above.. (I'm getting too lazy to read all :) )

Hi there -

A co-worker of mine just came back from training & got the solution. ACTIVE X was disabled in my browser. Once I set everything to enabled, Report Studio opened up - no issues. I don't know why IE gives a dummy error message about the language setting, but it does. In any case, all ACTIVE X settings in the Secutiry settings must be enabled.
