Hello

I am referring to a Windows XP Professional laptop.

It was impossible to install Oracle 10g on the laptopÃ,  :'(.

I cannot install MS SQL Server 2000 apparently becuase my DBA tells me it does not install well on an XP machine.

What database can I install on the laptop that can act as a content store for ReportNet.

Thanks
NKT

SQL Server(MSDE) works fine on XP and a laptop.

Not sure what your DBA is thinking.

SQL Server 2000 gets installed on XP Professional very easily. I also have Oracle 9i.

Put your DBA on a MS Sql course....

What version are you using? Some version only run on a 2000 / 2003 machine...
But you can always download the "free" version of MSDE

I believe most Cognoids worldwide (well, the consultants anyway) are running ReportNet on XP laptops using SQL Server 2000 as both content store and data repository.  No problems as far as I am aware...
Meep!

Folks

Appreciate your responses. They have been very helpful. Guess my DBA just got it wrong.

I am continuing to have problems with Oracle including 9i. Must be my brand new Dell laptop  ???..

I am going to try the MSDE, did not know it would work fine as a content store.

Talking about Dell Laptops reminds me of a wonderful incident.

One of my colleagues got a new Dell Laptop from the company. Just one month later, it won't boot anymore. He opened it up and found a red sticker on the motherboard that said 'Refurbished'.
