Hi all,

I just want to enquire if there is other way to activate cognos security. As we all know, there are several option to enable cognos security eg. AD, LDAP, NTLM, Anonymous, etc. My question, is it possible to enable cognos security without using any of the option as stated? I do not have any AD or LDAP but I want to activate the cognos security to ensure users are asked to login upon launching cognos connection. I cannot use ANONYMOUS because it doesnt ask to login upon launching cognos connections...

Thank you

In Cognos, you can't create users. You can only grant users rights, but the users have to exist somewhere.
I don't know if you're running Cognos on a Windows Server, because in that situation the easiest way would be NTLM security. In that case, you could create (plain Windows-) users on your server, and grant them permissions.
