Hi All,

We are going to use the composite Software product Discovery for automatically searching the joins/relations between tables and columns.
Now we are also using Cognos 8.3 for reports on the data.

My query is : Is there any way we can directly use the output of Discovery in FM modelling so the in FM the relationships are defined as per the relationship details of the Discovery?

Hope you understand what I want.

Thanks

Question is whether you need it. FM should be able to detect PK-FK relationships when you order it to do so while importing. FM should also be able to use a variety of model from modelling tools, but I think Discovery is not one of them..

thanks

We need the same. The discovery does not consider the actual physical level joins but analysis tables and data to find relevant tables / columns that can be joined and give some xml file on that.
so i want xml to be used in any way in FM to make joins as per the xml.

Pls update me on the same.

Will be highly obliged.

I am not really following your exact needs. You mean you have a database where FK's are not implemented and use some sort of analysis tool to scan column values to suggest possible joins between tables?
