Hi,
We have users login to our sharepoint site with sharepoint userid/pwd and then login to cognos to using cognos userid/pwd. Could you please let me know if single sign on is possible that the users use only sharepoint userid/pwd to run reports in cognos? Right now we are using Access manager/series 7 as security in cognos. Thanks for you info.

What is the authentication source for sharepoint?

The first requirement for this to be possible is that the AD userIDs must match the ones used in Access Manager (S7). Otherwise mapping users will be impossible.
If they do match have a look at the following document on DeveloperWorks :
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/data/library/cognos/page253.html

Then you'll also need to enable SSO for the S7 namespace ( if that's not done yet)

What if the sharepoint user ids and cognos series 7 ids are not same. Is there way I can map them by their names
Thanks for your info.

Then just add the AD OS signon to the user in Accman, active Windows Integrated authentication on cognos.cgi or cognosisapi.dll , and it should work.

indeed .. you could do it that way yes .. it's been too long since my S7 days ;-)

Ad as the authentication provider for Cognos rather to use access manager :
We've been doing this for a long time..with sso. The only gap is if you want to pass user ids out of cognos report ; To an ssas cube for instance.
