  • No Topics to be posted for questions/answers/etc. to certification/trainings exams (or the like)
  • Please reply when your topic has been solved
  • Please stop using Capitalized and Urgent topic subjects
  • Please stop addressing posts directly to another user
  • Please use Subject header to describe issue ONLY
  • Don't forget to click on the 'tick' symbol on the post that helped solve your problem. This helps others identify which topics have been solved and which post helped solve the question. Use the following:
[Solved] = Your topic has been solved succesfully
[Unsolved] = Your topic has been closed unsuccesfully
[Closed] = Your topic has been closed because there were no replies, answers etc.
  • Before posting a topic, first use the help function in Report Studio and/or Framework Manager
  • Before posting a topic, first use the Search in cognoise to check if the answer is not already available.
  • Do NOT post articles from Cognos or other companies that are not freely accessible directly; Only post an URL to it (in short: if you must have an account and password: ONLY post the url)

Could you add as well:
Before posting a topic, first use the Search in cognoise to check if the answer is not already available.

can there be section created wherein all the closed problems are found...I feel it becomes easier for looking solutions for the same problem...

Srik

That would be very handy... but this is not the place to post this topic... post it on to the general discussion section

sir_jeroen

What time should we use before we add [Closed]  to a topic.. I'm in favour of 2 days...

Blue

Two days is a bit drastic.  I usually only get to this site once or twice a week.  And I respond to subjects that may have been posted weeks ago as not only the original posted is interested in responses but others also.

I suggest anything over 90 days can be considered "stale".  However seeing that "Cold Case" is such a popular TV program perhaps there should be no "statute of limitations" on posts.

I would say:
90 days = dead...
30 days = coma
10 days = dying
5 days = closed

sir_jeroen

Btw.. You come here only once or twice a week.. SHAME on you :D
