Hi:

We've just upgraded our Cognos web app from 8.2 to 8.3.   Now when we launch Report Studio from Cognos Connection,  a warning message pops up with the following text:

"Web browser default behaviors are disabled. Some settings will not be preserved."

Once we click ok, it takes us within Report Studio and seems to be fine.

What is this message about?  Is there a way to correct this other than changing the settings in our end users' workstations (they are locked down by the corporate IS group).

Please advise and thank you for your help.

Sounds like the web browser(s) don't abide by the Cognos requirements (see Installation & Configuration Guide):

For all web browsers, the following needs to be enabled:
-Cookies
-JavaScript

For MS Internet Explorer only, the following needs to be enabled:
-Run ActiveX controls & plug-ins
-Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting
-Active scripting
-Allow META REFRESH

We have installed 8.2 from using impromptu...

What is the process from upgrading from 8.2 to 8.3 .

Theres not a lot of documentation on it.

My understanding was to :-

1)Back up content store
2)Unistall Cognos 8.2
3)Re-Install Cognos 8.3
4)Re-import the content store into the new CM Database
5)Republish all the packages to 8.3 in Framework manager
6)Test

What about the reports from 8.2?? Do they work..

Kind Regards
john
