Hi,

I have a query studio report in production environment. After deploying new package I am not able to upgrade the existing QS report. There is a change of name for one of the query items used in the report. Is there any way that I can change this column. I tried clicking Report Definition under Manage File menu, does not allow me click anything.

Thanks in advance,
Anirudha

Hello,

We came across this exact issue in Query Studio after changing a few of the field names in the Framework Manager package. After logging a support ticket with Cognos, their response was that we needed to upgrade to Cognos 8.3. ( We're currently on 8.2). This bug is included on the list of fixes for 8.3.  We replied stating that an upgrade was not a feasible option at the time, and Cognos eventually agreed to develop a patch to fix the issue in 8.2.

Upgrading to 8.3 fixes this issue, but if that's not an option I would contact Cognos support and explain the situation, and see if they can work with you to develop some kind of hotfix or patch that works in your environment.

Hope this helps,

Jay

We had the same issue during a migration to production, and because of the tight deadline we just manually recreated the report based on the updated package query items.

Thank you very much guys. Its highly appreciated.
I do agree with you all. Since we also have many reports in ReportNet 1.1, switching over to Cognos 8.3 is not an easy task for now. But as suggested I will contact support team and ask for a hot fix.

Thanks again,
