Hi Gurus
I am new to the migration.I want to know what are all the steps that all should be carried for migrating the cubes from powerplay transformer to analysis studio and i want to know can we remove the powerplay transformer tool permenatly after migation.

second i also want to know how to migrate the ppr reports from powerplay to Analysis Studio

Thanks in advance

rockytopmark

No Migration.  Transformer still builds the cubes.  Analysis Studio is like a (Bad) replacement for PowerPlay, for reading the cubes, and doing Analysis.

As rockytopmark indicates, Transformer is still a part of cognos8.  You don't migrate from Transformer to anything else, it is the only way to build Cognos cubes.  You MAY use Analysis Studio or other Studios instead of or in addition to PowerPlay to report off the cubes.

What you migrate is all the PPX reports. I am currently doing migration. I got all the PPX reports from the PPSROOT  into a folder. Organized all the reports into a structure that is same as structure on Upfront. (Or you can create a package *.dmp). Then follow instructions from migration tools document and run migratetoc8 and deploytoc8 commands. Then import the deployment archive.
After that there is a cleanup task. I opened each report on Cognos 8, checked the package, report etc. Had to do many calculations again.

Hi Guys,

I am working on this migration stuff. We have a huge number of cube views (PPX Reports) that we need to migrate and we won’t be able to do them all as it would take such a drain on resources. So we thought of scrubbing the PPX reports that we need to migrate and in order to achieve this we would like to start off with determining who is using which cube views...Is there any kind of auditing that helps us achieve this? I looked at the ppes_audit.log file but it only gives information about the cubes and not the cube views...

Thanks in advance!!!
