Hello,

I have an existing table on Cognos 11.2, in which I am trying to insert a new column. I have tried various things, but the columns always shows up outside the table structure. I am sure, there's some sort of selection that I might be missing.

Please let me know how to achieve that.

Can you confirm what the structure is you are using? It looks to me like it might be a crosstab object rather than a table? Click on the three dots in the top left corner of the object, and look at its properties to see. If it is a crosstab, then it looks like you are trying to add content into the home cell in the top left corner (which you usually can't do unless you unlock the structure).

Cheers!

You may be right. It might be a cross tab. Here's the properties of selected content (attached pictures). Can you please confirm if it's a cross tab?

Hi,

The image of the Properties pane is very small, and I'm struggling to read it. I think I see it says "List" at the top? If so, this is a List object rather than a Crosstab.

Can you explain in a bit more detail what you are trying to do?

Cheers!

Yes, it's a list. So basically I am trying to add a new column into that list. I kind of understand that I need to simply drag and drop the data element to create that column. Please let me know if that's a wrong approach.

Hi,

Yes, it should just be a case of dragging in the new item and dropping it in the desired location within the list.

Cheers!
