Drill Through based on Drill Down

Hello All,

We have an issue I was hoping someone might have some suggestions on or may have encountered before.  We have a list and a chart on the same report studio 8.3 report that both use the same query and cube for a data source.  We have a business hierarchy dimension displayed in the list that drill down is enabled for.  When a user drills down on the business hierarchy in the list, the revenue information in the chart is filtered based on that drill down.  We accomplished that with the help of this very informative post http://www.cognoise.com/community/index.php?topic=3162.0 by creating a member set for the business hierarchy dimension, and setting the drill down behavior to replace expression.

We do still have an issue in that the chart has a drill through enabled to a detail report.  What we want to do is filter the filtering that was done by drilling down in the list to the detail report.  This would happen when the user drilled through one of the chart's bars to the detail report.  Unfortunately we cannot figure out how to do this because the chart does not display any of the business hierarchy information itself and therefore we do not know how to pass it from the chart to the detail report.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to better describe our issue and we appreciate any help provided.

Thanks,
Chris

Hi,

I'm not quite clear what the problem is here.  When defining a drillthrough, you can pass any item or items from your query to the target report, provided you have added parameter filters to receive them in the target report.  Given that your query contains your business hierarchy info, can't you simply pass the relevant item(s)?

MF.
