Scheduling reports: my task status stays on "executing"

Hi all,

I have got a small issue in cognos connection. I have 30 reports (report studio and analysis studio reports.
Every evening on 21.30u this reports are refreshed. I have created a schedule. When i go to schedule management. The taskstatus stays on executing instead of completed. The report output is created and every one of the 30 reports has a completion time.

Does anybody know how to solve this issue?

Edit: i have noticed that some report studio reports do not have an output in the "View run history details" - window!
Edit2: Now I have a report output everywhere. But the status says: executing.... There was an error in one of the reports.

Hi,
   I have he same proble. We are using  Cognos8.
   I happened to delevlop a report and then clicked With Run options in Cognos Connection . I was using the burst functionality and submitted the report. Then I went to Tools - > Schedule Management and then checked the status of the report.It showed as "Executing"
  Meanwhile I received the e-mail of the burst report .So I assume the report has run successfully. But why is that the Schedule Managerment still shows the status as "Executing".?
  How to get rid of this ?
  Please help me to get out of this.

Hi,

I have seen a few messages describing this behaviour recently, and in all cases (so far) the poster's environment has been Cognos 8.2 and it's just when bursting a report.  If this is the release you are using too, I'd log a case with Cognos to see if it's a known 'feature'.

   Thanks for your response.
     One strange thing is that , I had developed earlier a report ABC (detail) with burst options and it works perfectly  fine.This is a new report (SUMMARY, the one with stuck status)   is   based on the same package as the ABC , just the layout is different,and we are facing this issue.
    We are planning to restart Cognos services and see if it makes any difference. If not,  then will log a case with the support team.
   Also what happens, if we just leave it as it is? Anyway, the report is bursting and e-mails are sent and received. Also I can run  the report multiple times,  so can it just be left as it is..?

If anyone who has faced this issue, can pass on the information on how  they solved it, it would be  of a great help.

If it's stuck on executing, and yet the reports actually ran, it's likely an issue finishing up the job.  This could (and has often been) related to Authentication.

Have the user who scheduled the job renew their credentials.  (Preferences-->Personal Tab-->Renew the credentials

Hi,

I've also heard that this problem can be caused by issues within the content store database after an upgrade to 8.2.  If this is the case, try backing up your content store using the 'content administration' utility, then create a new, empty content store database and import your deployment.
