Can an average 11.x author get access to the underlying "query" of a Dashboard?

Okay, I like posting questions here because I get more hits than on Reddit.  Of course, I'm not afraid of asking the really ignorant questions like this one.  But, it is an honest and sincere ask.

My question is not asking if there is someone on the planet - named or anonymous - who knows how to use a stick of gum, a paperclip, and a dozen lines of FORTRAN code to hack into a Dashboards' query.  I'm asking please about Joe average DASH author navigating the standard DASH UI.

Is there any common and supported techniques for manipulating a DASH's logic in ways that are not evidenced within the DASH user interface?  I'm impressed that DASH can't be "pixel perfect" like Reports.  But is any Report-like query manipulation of a DASH possible (outside of the Framework data modeling)?

I'm not looking to hack; this is just an innocent question about what the Analytics DASH UI is intended to support.

Thanks Much.
